Hotel Facility Rules & Regulations

To ensure a safe and comfortable environment for all guests, InterContinental Yokohama Grand (hereinafter referred to as “the Hotel”) has established the following rules pursuant to Article 10 of the Accommodation Agreement. Failure to comply with these rules may, in accordance with Articles 7 and 18 of the Accommodation Agreement, result in refusal of accommodation or access to hotel facilities. In certain cases, guests may also be held responsible for associated liabilities.

Fire prevention requirements

  • 1. The bringing in or use of heating, cooking, ironing, or other appliances that may present a fire risk is prohibited within the Hotel.
  • 2. Smoking is prohibited in locations prone to fire hazards, including in bed, as well as while walking through hallways or the lobby.
  • 3. Fire safety equipment must not be handled except in the event of an emergency.
  • 4. The evacuation route map for each guestroom is posted on the inside of the guest room front door and should be reviewed.

Security requirements

  • 1. Guests are required to ensure that the guest room door is locked when leaving the room.
  • 2. During a stay, particularly when retiring for the night, the internal door lock and safety latch should be engaged. Visitors should not be admitted without verification of their identity. Any suspicious persons should be reported to the Front Desk immediately.
  • 3. Meetings with visitors are to take place in the lobby.
  • 4. Overnight stays by persons not registered at check-in are strictly prohibited.

Handling of valuables 
and deposited items

  • 1. Cash and other valuables must be deposited in the Front Desk safe on the 2nd floor. The Hotel cannot be held liable for loss of valuables kept in guest rooms.
  • 2. Lost property will be handled in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • 3. The handling of deposited items is governed by Article 15 of the Accommodation Agreement concerning the custody of belongings.

Payment

  • 1. A deposit (advance payment) determined by the Hotel may be requested upon arrival. Any charges incurred during the stay must be settled when requested.
  • 2. When signing charges to a guest room account at Hotel restaurants and bars, the room key card or the accommodation booklet issued at check-in must be presented.
  • 3. Personal checks, other than traveler’s checks, cannot be accepted as payment or for cashing.
  • 4. The Hotel does not advance payment for purchases at hotel shops, airline tickets, train or bus fares, taxi fares, postage stamps, luggage transport, or similar expenses.
  • 5. Use of the in-room telephone will incur an additional facility fee.
  • 6. A 15% service charge will be added to all accounts in addition to statutory taxes.
  • 7. Gratuities to employees are politely declined.

Prohibited conduct

  • 1. The following actions may disturb other guests and are not permitted.
  • (1) The following are not permitted within the Hotel, as they may disturb other guests:
    1. Dogs, cats, birds, and other pets or animals (except for certified guide dogs, hearing dogs, and service dogs).
    2. Items that produce offensive or strong odors.
    3. Explosives, volatile oils, or other hazardous, flammable, or combustible materials.
    4. Items prohibited by law. Gambling or any activity that disrupts public order is not permitted within the Hotel.
  • (2) Loud speaking, singing, or any disruptive behavior that may inconvenience other guests is not permitted within the Hotel.
  • (3) Guest rooms may not be used for purposes other than lodging and dining without prior approval from the Hotel.
  • (4) Bringing food or beverages into the Hotel, or arranging outside delivery services, is not permitted.
  • (5) Hotel facilities and furnishings must not be altered or moved without the Hotel’s approval.
  • (6) Items that detract from the Hotel’s external appearance must not be placed or displayed near windows.
  • (7) Overnight stays by persons not registered at check-in are strictly prohibited. Guests from outside the Hotel must not be invited into guest rooms.
  • (8) The distribution or posting of promotional materials, as well as solicitation or sales activities, is not permitted within the Hotel without prior authorization.
  • (9) Photographs or recordings taken within the Hotel must not be used publicly for commercial purposes without permission. Unauthorized use may be subject to legal action.
  • (10) Yukata, nightwear, bathrobes, slippers, and similar attire are not to be worn outside guest rooms, including in hallways.
  • 2. If any of the “Prohibited Conduct” listed above continues after the Hotel has issued a warning, access to Hotel facilities will be denied.

Prohibiting facility use 
by anti-social forces

1. The Hotel will deny use of its facilities to the organizations and individuals listed below:

  • (1) Organized crime groups, their members, affiliated organizations, and associated individuals
  • (2)Individuals connected to corporations or other entities whose business activities are controlled by organized crime groups or their members.
  • (3) Anti-social organizations, their members, and associated individuals
  • (4) Individuals who engage in acts such as violence, assault, intimidation, extortion, coercive or unreasonable demands, or similar conduct
  • (5) Individuals who, due to diminished mental capacity, intoxication, drug influence, or similar impairment, are unable to ensure their own safety or may pose a danger, or cause fear or anxiety to other guests
  • 2. If any of the circumstances outlined in items (1) through (3) are identified, the Hotel will decline further use of its facilities from that point forward.
