Located at Shinko Pier in Minato Mirai 21 district, about a 10-minute walk from the hotel, this complex combines a passenger ship terminal (CIQ facility), the InterContinental Yokohama Pier 8 hotel, and food-themed shops. As the "Yokohama Umieki" (sea station) is a "sea station" connecting the city with land, sea, and air, it offers a rich experience at the port while immersing you in Yokohama culture. The massive structure at the tip of Shinko Pier is Japan's first dedicated harbor loading and unloading crane, constructed in 1914. It is registered as a civil engineering heritage site as a valuable historical relic. Its hammer-like shape gave it the nickname "hammerhead crane," from which the facility's name was derived. Even now, more than 100 years after its construction, it continues to watch over the seas of Yokohama.

Konica Minolta Planetarium Yokohama offers adults traveling to Minatomirai a glamping-like stargazing experience, allowing them to fully enjoy nature in a slightly luxurious setting in the city. As you are transported from the foyer decorated with greenery on the ground to a dome that seems to float in space, you may feel a little lighter.
